Fresh from the What Stage Friday at Bonnaroo!
Another great show from Jim James and crew.
Set list is courtesy of setlist.fm.
I watched most of the live stream and the band rocked. Wish I could have made the fest.

enjoy!

Subject: This was a literal jaw-dropping performance
Honestly, when I think back on this show, my jaw still hits the floor. This was my first Bonnaroo and I went just to see MMJ and Arcade Fire. I vividly remember walking through the gates towards the giant What Stage and hearing the initial horn sounds from Victory Dance. I literally have chillbumps just from thinking about this. I had made it through the gates and was walking across the massive field that views the stage and then I heard it: the first horn sounds of Victory Dance. Those horns ripped through all of my consciousness, through all of my being, through everything that I thought was reality. That horn sound tore through space and time and instantly brought e v e r y o n e withing listing distance to attention. Good lord, what I'd give to relive that experience. Instantly there was a rush of people to get closer to stage. After that, the rest of the show was a blur. I now completely understand how Jim James describes a good show... He said "I know we've put on a good show when we start the show, enter the zone, finish the show and then leave the stage." (obviously paraphrased) He said he can't remember too many specifics from individual shows because great shows are such a surreal experience. I fully appreciate this after witnessing MMJ bring down the house at Bonnaroo 2011. Sometimes I dream of this show, with vivid memories from songs such as Smokin' from Shootin', Mahgeetah, and Touch Me Pt. 2. I can't pull these details from the depths of my minds at will. (Maybe blame it on the acid). Anyways, LONG LIVE MY MORNING JACKET. I will see this band any chance I get for as long as I live.

Subject: Great recording!
This is a great recording of a fantastic show. Just wanted to extend my thanks to the taper as well as everyone else that made it possible to have this so soon after the show. For us folks that couldn't make the fest, many thanks!

Subject: Great show
I just returned from Bonnaroo and really enjoy seeing this uploaded already. Thanks to the taper for the great work. As for the actual show, it was a blast to be there with the Jacket on the main stage. Seems to me that MMJ changed the way the band plays these songs, for example an extra jam on the end of the songs. I want to go back and listen again, but seems The Jacket made this show extra special. Some high lights were "First Light" and "Steam Engine."
